Putting your money in God’s hands

Earlier this week on a planet 60 million miles from earth, a NASA built remote controlled go-cart traveling at a top speed of 2 miles an hour transmitted a series of three dimensional images featuring “space dirt” at a transmission speed slower than a fax machine. Nine hundred million dollars spent on a Mars rover that will travel just a little over a mile and collect data on Martian dirt and rocks.

Nine hundred million dollars. That should be enough zeros to feed the world. Forever.

President Bush now wants to shoot rockets in the sky and build industry and commerce on the moon, and onto Mars! This while half of American industry and commerce buildings are empty or boarded-up following a faulting economy.

We stand to gain just as much searching within as we do beyond the moon. And we could learn much from our neighbors, yet we roam Martian lake beds for dust and stones.

Remembering to explore ourselves is part of His plan for our lives. Looking “in” instead of looking out! This is part of our commitment to God, striving to live perfect lives according to His will!

If you’re part of the NASA team I congratulate you, otherwise I ask you to look in the mirror and ask yourself “what’s my rover to Mars” and “how do I turn it into food for the hungry, blankets for the homeless or shoes for an orphan boy?”

There are amazing things on planets out there waiting to be discovered! Oh, and there might be a thing or two left on this planet for you to discover…

Always remember we are here for a reason and that loving and helping other Christians is a must- Relationships are what God is all about, after all He wants a relationship with us!

I hope you will find it within your heart to share with those around you before you blast into space and start shooting pictures of endless desert. Trust that God has a plan for you and follow it, one righteous step at a time…

Let’s pray!

Father God;
We thank you for your blessings in our lives
For your love, your forgiveness, your light.

Lord we pray you will continue to inspire us
To search within and keep refining ourselves,
So that we may continue to live out
Your plan for our lives on earth.

Father we ask that you make us strong in the days ahead
And drive us to be more like you and follow in your footsteps,
Loving other disciples and reaching out to those
Who fear or ignore you in their lives.

Lord we pray for your guidance, that you show us the path
We need to take so that we may rejoice with you in heaven.

God we thank you for all that surrounds us!

Praise God,
Amen!
