John 14:6
“6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
There is no gatekeeper, and no, Saint Peter is not waiting to judge you at the gates of Heaven.
Oh, and one more thing. There is no such thing as Purgatory.
I grew up Catholic.
I was taught many things about God, Jesus, Heaven and Hell.
I grew up fearing God’s judgment, and was consumed by death until I came face to face with the truth about eternal life in Heaven.
The truth is, no one “earns” their way into Heaven. The only way to Heaven is by choice, by faith.
In His holy word, the Bible, God teaches us all we have to do to spend eternity in Heaven with God and Jesus, is believe.
Believe that God came to Earth in the way of a man named Jesus, who was born of a virgin mother, Mary, then lived a sinless life that led Him to the cross where He died, then rose up on the third day and, after establishing His ministry, ascended to Heaven to take His place at the right hand of the Creator.
If you believe that, then you are golden!
Many ask me, what about murderers, rapists and evil doers? If faith is the only way to Heaven, and on their death bed they accept Jesus as their Savior and believe, what about them? Do they go to the same place a loving, sacrificial nun ends up?
The answer is, yes.
God does not discriminate against true believers. He knows all our hearts and no, it’s no enough to say “I believe.” God is not fooled by liars…
Salvation comes by faith alone, but it doesn’t stop there, as faith without works is dead.
James 2:20
“20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? .”
While faith is the gateway to Heaven, it’s works, good deeds that will earn us rewards in Heaven, and joy on Earth.
God’s promise is simple: Put your trust and hope in Him, and you will reap rewards forever.

Father God;
We thank you for your presence in our lives,
We praise you Lord for the wisdom found through John and James,
And we ask you Lord to help us find joy in your perfect plan.
Allow us to praise and love each other through faith in you Jesus,
Shield us from evil through your Word, salvation and prayer,
Guide us to abide by the truth as we spread the good news to one and all,
And lead the lost to You.
God we pray that you will continue to bless us,
To bless our lives and fill us with hope.
We ask you Lord to guide our footsteps and lead us to the way everlasting,
Through faith in you Lord we seek salvation and our place with you in Heaven
According to your ways, your everlasting wisdom and strength.
May your will be done, here on Earth and through the vast Universe,
May our hearts be filled with your everlasting love and grace.
