You’re invited to a Birthday Party!

In the spirit of Christmas, this week I thought I would do something different and share an email I received earlier this week. It’s an invitation of sorts…

You are cordially invited to A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!!!

Guest of Honor: Jesus Christ

Date: Every day. Traditionally, December 25 but He’s always around, so the date is flexible.

Time: Whenever you’re ready. (Please don’t be late, though, or you’ll miss out on all the fun!)

Place: In your heart, He’ll meet you there. (You’ll hear Him knock.)

Attire: Come as you are. Grubbies are okay. He’ll be washing our clothes anyway. He said something about new white robes and crowns for everyone who stays till the last.

Tickets: Admission is free. He’s already paid for everyone. He says you wouldn’t have been able to afford it anyway. It cost Him His life. But you do need to accept the ticket!

Refreshments: New wine, bread, and a far-out drink He calls “Living Water,” followed by a supper that promises to be out of this world!

Gift Suggestions: Your life. He’s one of those people who already has everything else. (He’s very generous in return though. Just wait until you see what He has for you!)

Entertainment: Joy, Peace, Truth, Light, Life, Love, Real Happiness, Communion with God, Forgiveness, Miracles, Healing, Power, Eternity in Paradise, Contentment, and much more! (All “G” rated, so bring your family and friends.)

R.S.V.P. Very Important! He must know ahead so He can reserve a spot for you at the table. Also, He’s keeping a list of His friends for future reference. He calls it the “Lamb’s Book of Life.”

Party being given by His Kids, that’s us! Hope to see you there! For those of you whom I will see at the party, share this with someone today!

While you’re in a sharing mood why not also share the following scripture…

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to his own town to register. 4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ[a] the Lord. 12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.” 15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.” (Luke 2:1-20)

I invite you to rejoice in the birth of Christ and to celebrate His birthday accordingly making certain to remember the unique gift that comes with a relationship with Jesus. thankfully this is a gift, once understood and accepted that no can return or exchange. Merry Christmas! Let’s pray.

Father God;

And for looking after us, our families and friends,
We thank you for your love, your forgiveness, your wisdom
And for inspiring us to live according to your will
.

Lord we ask you to continue to lead our footsteps
To walk a righteous path and try be more like you,
And to humble us so that we may take notice
That no service to you or in your name is insignificant.

God we thank you for sending Jesus to be born a man
And to die so we all could live,
We praise you Lord for the gift of eternal life
That awaits us in heaven.

We pray for your strength and endless grace,
Your unconditional love, your forgiveness,
