2 Corinthians 6:14 Dating By Faith

14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?”

2 Corinthians 6:14

In His Word, God is clear about relationships: It is not good for man to be alone.

But, that’s not a pass for men of God (or women) to be with just anyone.

For Christian men and women, especially after a failed marriage, it can certainly be challenging to navigate the modern dating process.

When loneliness sets in, and long, dark winter days are a dime a dozen, folks can get pretty desperate. And that’s when Satan strikes…

To prevent falling prey to the enemy, as believers we need to empower ourselves with the Word, and arm ourselves with fellowship.

Yes, other Christians can provide wisdom and advice to help steer us in the right direction. Being in fellowship with other believers can also provide accountability, which is not only key to spiritual growth, but a critical element of a healthy, Christiaan relationship.

To establish and maintain a relationship that’s glorifying to God, you’ll need to lean on your faith in Jesus, and seek a likeminded partner.

This means you will need to date a Christian – Period.

Now there are countless places where Christian singles can be found, and the core of it all resides in local churches. Yes, your local fellowships are full of Christian singles, and the best part of that is, singles are usually plugged in and involved in some type of ministry.

From services on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays, to Singles Ministries and everything in between, local fellowships offer countless ways for single Christians to serve and grow together, for the glory of our Savior.

Of course, there’s always Christian online dating, retreats and special events.

There are also secular websites and apps where members can share their faith in their profiles, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up with those candidates.

The only rule is very easy to remember: Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers.

Place your trust in God, and look for love in the right places…

Father God;
We thank you for your presence in our lives,
We praise you Lord for the wisdom bestowed upon Peter,
And we ask you Lord to help us find joy in your perfect plan.

Allow us to praise and love each other through faith in you Jesus,
Shield us from evil through your Word, salvation and prayer,
Guide us to abide by the truth as we spread the good news to one and all,
And lead the lost to You.

God we pray that you will continue to bless us,
To bless our lives and fill us with hope.
We ask you Lord to guide our footsteps and lead us to the way everlasting,
Through faith in you Lord we seek salvation and our place with you in Heaven
According to your ways, your everlasting wisdom and strength.

May your will be done, here on Earth and through the vast Universe,
May our hearts be filled with your everlasting love and grace.
Praises to You God, Amen!
