”27 But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” ”
James 3:10
Something pretty interesting happened to me yesterday. Again.
God said yes.
You see, yeaterday, I sold my favorite drone ever; A DJI Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian Edition Cinematic Drone (Flat Black finish – collector’s edition).
I put the done up for sale on Facebook Marketplace because the camera on the drone no longer worked, and I was trying to dump all my DJI Phantom 4 Pro gear, from extra batteries to lens filters, a handy heavy duty travel case, dozens of extra props, extra controller, extra chargers, extra everything.
I got an offer for $250 from a buyer who stated he was aware the drone needed camera gimbal repair.
I accepted his offer.
He showed up.
I asked him if he wanted to see the drone fly, even though the camera didn’t work.
He said yes.
I opened the drone travel case, took out and turned on the Phantom 4 Pro, took out the super cool black Controller and attached my iphone, turned on the controller and just like that, Eagle 2 took off like a rocket and both the buyer and my neighbor were blown away with the speed of the drone.
What came next was just amazing…
You see, my beloved Phantom started giving me trouble after it was rained on, in a down poor. That was my fault.
The camera would not come on, at times, and eventually I gave up on the drone assuming the issue was the gimbal tape, the connecting cable from the drone’s high resolution camera to the aircraft’s computer.
For months I have been praying and hoping the connection between the drone’s camera and the drone’s computer to be restored, to no avail.
God kept saying no.
Until yesterday when he fired up the drone’s camera as soon as the new buyer showed up.
So today, I answered God’s calling to reflect on the profound truth found in Luke 18:27. This verse speaks to the heart of our faith, reminding us that God’s power and grace transcend human limitations. Often, we look for miracles in grandiose events, but God’s wonders frequently unfold in the ordinary moments of our lives, demonstrating His constant presence and love.
And this is precisely why I want to share this personal story that exemplifies this truth. It’s a story about a drone, a piece of technology that many of us wouldn’t associate with divine intervention. However, it serves as a testament to the everyday miracles God performs in our lives.
My drone was not defective just once. It was shot. It was a frustrating situation because this drone had significant value, not just financially but also for the joy it brought me in capturing breathtaking aerial footage. I had finally decided to sell it, being honest with potential buyers about its defective camera state. Yesterday, a buyer showed interest and agreed to come and see the drone despite its issues.
When the buyer arrived, something remarkable happened. I powered on the drone, expecting to demonstrate its flaws. But to our astonishment, the drone worked perfectly. It took off smoothly, hovered steadily, and the camera captured stunning 4K footage. There was no sign of the defect that had plagued it for so long. The buyer was thrilled, seeing the drone fly like a champ. He was prepared to negotiate a lower price, but now he eagerly paid the full amount I had initially asked for a defective drone.
This experience was more than a stroke of luck; it was a divine intervention. The buyer left happy, and I was left in awe of how God had turned an impossible situation into a moment of joy and fulfillment. To God be all the glory!
This story underscores a vital lesson: God’s miracles aren’t confined to the biblical times or to extraordinary events. They happen in our daily lives, often in subtle and unexpected ways. The miracle of my drone working perfectly at the right moment reminded me of God’s presence and His ability to make the impossible possible.
In the busyness of life, it’s easy to overlook the miracles happening around us. We may attribute them to coincidence or luck, but as believers, we recognize them as manifestations of God’s grace. Every sunrise, every heartbeat, every breath we take is a miracle. The relationships we cherish, the opportunities we receive, and even the challenges we overcome are all part of God’s miraculous work in our lives.
God’s miracles serve to strengthen our faith and remind us of His omnipotence. When Jesus said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God,” He was not just referring to the grand miracles but also to the everyday acts of divine intervention that affirm His love for us. These moments, no matter how small, are significant because they reveal God’s intimate involvement in our lives.
Reflect on your own life. Think about the times when something unexpected and wonderful happened. Perhaps it was a health scare that turned out to be nothing, a financial crisis that was miraculously resolved, or a broken relationship that was restored. These are all signs of God’s presence and His power to transform our lives in ways we cannot foresee.
Let us be vigilant in recognizing these everyday miracles and give thanks to God for His endless grace. When we acknowledge His hand in our lives, our faith grows stronger, and we become more attuned to His will. By sharing our stories of everyday miracles, we inspire others to see God’s work in their lives and to trust in His unfailing love.
Remember that God is always at work, performing miracles big and small. Whether it’s a defective drone brought back to life or the simple blessings we often take for granted, these are all testaments to God’s omnipotence and His care for us. Let us live each day with a heart full of gratitude, recognizing that with God, all things are possible.
To God be all the glory, now and forever.
