How strong is Your Faith?

How strong is your faith? Surely it is strengthened when things go right, when God performs miracles in your life. The bible is full of examples how through their faith, individuals defeated evil, were healed or even brought back to life.

“By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death; and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was attested as having pleased God.” (Hebrews 11:5)

Through faith, David defeated Goliath.

“By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, took heed and constructed an ark for the saving of his household; by this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness which comes by faith.” (Hebrews 11:7)

Through faith, Samson tore a lion to pieces with his bare hands.

“By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised.” (Hebrews 11:11)

Through faith, the walls of Jehrico fell.

“By faith the people crossed the Red Sea as if on dry land; but the Egyptians, when they attempted to do the same, were drowned.” (Hebrews 11:29)

But is your faith so strong it could it overcome suffering? So strong it could endure the absence of miracles? Strong enough to prevail when your prayers are not answered? Is your faith as strong as Job’s?

Those of you who are familiar with Job’s story know he was a godly man. “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, one who feared God, and turned away from evil.” (Job 1:1)

Job was blessed with both spiritual and financial wealth however, he also suffered greatly when God took everything away from him. Yet Job’s faith prevailed as he stood and said “The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.” (Job 1:21-22)

The bible tells us in all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong. “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him.” (Job 13:15)

With this in mind and the fact we are all commanded to allow our faith to define our life’s purpose, I plan on following my mission to fearlessly spread the Word of God through this ministry, in every conversation and at every opportunity I am blessed with. I invite you to join me in doing God’s work remembering the Word of God never returns void!

I invite you to let your faith guide you as you fulfill your life’s mission. Let your walk with Jesus Christ be a challenging, fruitful one. Never fear pain or suffering but do fear God’s wrath. Always remember the worse thing that can happen to you is not death rather it is burning for all eternity in Hell.

Is your faith driving you toward the kingdom of God? I hope and pray it is. No one likes God’s tests of faith however, many of us need a gut check every now and then. Are you ready to be tested?

If not, pick up your bible, read the book of Judges, and Hebrews, then return to this message and see for yourself how God’s word can help feed one’s faith.

Let’s pray.

Father God;
We thank you for your blessings in our lives
And for giving our lives a purpose,
We ask that you continue to inspire us
To serve you through our faith.

Lord we ask you to forgive our sins
And keep us strong in times of temptation,
To inspire us to walk in your footsteps
Striving to be more like you each day.

We pray you will continue to look over us
Our families, our friends and those in need,
And ask that you drive us to fulfill our mission in this life
So that we may rejoice with you in the next.

God we love you and thank you for all that surrounds us!

Praise God,
Amen!
