Abortion is Murder

In the United-States, one out of every three pregnancies results in abortion. This translates into 1.5 million abortions each year, in the US alone. What is even more troubling is that 93% of these abortions are based on convenience.

While these numbers seem to be too shocking for many to grasp, I can painfully relate to them. Between 1985 and 1994 I was directly involved in decision making that resulted in aborting 5 pregnancies. A non believer engaged in premarital sex since the age of 15, I was accomplice to these five premeditated murders.

Premeditated murder is defined as “wrongfully causing the death of another human being after rationally considering the timing or method of doing so, in order to either increase the likelihood of success”. Playing a lead role in each abortion, I forcefully imposed my way of thinking over five vulnerable girlfriends which resulted in five lives being destroyed. From the get go, each woman knew I was pro-choice and not interested in having children. In essence, I premeditated each abortion, each murder.

Why do I call abortion murder? Because both the bible and the law say so. The word of God teaches how the prophets Jeremiah and Isaiah were formed in the womb:

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5)

“5 And now the Lord says— he who formed me in the womb to be his servant to bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel to himself, for I am honored in the eyes of the Lord and my God has been my strength. “6 It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.” (Isaiah 49:5-6)

The bible also tells us creation and life begins in the womb:

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” (Psalms 139:13)

Even more compelling to skeptics is the fact US laws consider the killing of a pregnant woman a double murder ALWAYS resulting in suspects being charged with two counts of homicide or manslaughter. An unborn child is clearly a human being according to the law and as such, every single woman that aborts a pregnancy for any reason is guilty of murder. Further more, every person associated with the decision making process involving abortions are accomplice to murder.

While this heated topic is quite controversial, it is also close to my heart because abortion destroys life. First by killing an unborn child, second by significantly affecting the lives of the women who surrender to selfishness, to weakness or to evil.

Women cannot predict the long term impact abortion will have on their lives however they can count on one thing, the fact that once life is taken away it cannot be given back. Abortions haunt women for life often resulting in depression or psychological conditions that can never be remedied.

My sister, a therapist with more than 20 years experience dealing with abortion continues to tremble each time she allows herself to be reminded of a decision she made when she was 18 years old. Her testimony is summed up in one phrase: “If I knew then what I know now, I would never get an abortion, I would never kill my child .”

Since I was born again in 2000, I have been blessed with a wonderful daughter and another child in my wife Elizabeth’s womb due in October. Actively immersed in ministry, I try and forget about the abortions I was involved in. Most times I praise God for the gracious gift of life He allowed for me to enjoy. Sometimes I find myself weakened and tortured by the same evil that drove me to be an accomplice to murder through abortion.

Statistics can be troubling, but they are nothing compared to personal experiences. In my case and thus far in my life, five of seven pregnancies were aborted. That amounts to 71%, double the national average. Through God’s grace I do not fear judgment, but I am fearful for those who carelessly choose to kill their unborn children assuming it is the right thing to do. Because it is not.

Abortion is murder, period. Abortion must be avoided at all costs because it destroys life. Do you or someone you know need help with this issue? I invite you to reach out to this ministry for prayer and assistance in dealing with abortion. There is a better way and it is everlasting.

I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” (John 14:6-7)

Let’s pray!

Father God;
We praise you for your Grace and for your blessings in our lives,
We thank you Lord for your guidance and your patience
And for your ever present love.

Lord we pray that you will continue to look after us
And provide for us all we need in this life,
We pray that you will spread your light onto our friends,
Our families and all those who seek you.

God we pray for your strength in challenging times
Specially when dealing with pregnancy and abortion,
We ask you to guide our footsteps and those of all women
Who are contemplate murder and the lifelong torture that comes with abortion.

Thank you Lord father for all that surrounds us!

Praise God,
Amen!
