1 John 2:25-27 Let the Truth Abide in You

John warned his readers of the Antichrist, and the antichrists before him, that believers should be on the lookout for evil, often hidden in idle or comfort in one’s life.

Worse than sin, commonality toward Yeshua, the begotten son of God, is at the root of many Christians straying from the truth for a time of purge, used by Yahweh for His own glory.

But to those who know the truth, and believe in the sacrifice made by Jesus on the cross, their trail leads to the way everlasting. Follow the trail of your time, energy, passion and money, and there you will find both your destination and legacy.

24 Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.” (1 John 2:24)

John summarizes the concept of salvation, that whoever believes that God came to live in the flesh as Yeshua, the carpenter from Nazareth who lived a perfect life, preached the truth about our heavenly Father, was put to death on cross to resurrect on the 3rd day, fulfilling prophecy and delivering sinners from eternal damnation.

Those in Christ will be known as such, for their trail leads to the God of Israel, and creator of the universe.

25 And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.” (1 John 2:25)

In return for our faith, the creator of the universe promises eternal life in a physical place called heaven. Anointed with our new bodies, God’s children will rejoice in perfect joy and harmony, along Yeshua, the risen Christ and Yahweh, our heavenly Father.

26 These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you.” (1 John 2:26)

John warns us of false teachers out to deceive and recruit seekers on Satan’s behalf. The apostle uses the Greek word “planaō” which involves seduction and deception both.

The best defense against the enemy continues to be found in the word, in fellowship and worship with like minded servants and disciples, and also in ministry where God touches each minister of gospel of Jesus Christ.

27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” (1 John 2:27)

John gives praises to God for His gospel, poured onto believers through the divine gift of the Holy Spirit, who dwells within us, as we continue our walk along the narrow path that leads to eternal life.

Through studying of God’s word, the bible, fellowship and worship with purpose driven believers and ministry, Christians are led to fulfill our mission according to Yahweh’s perfect plan. Let us pray!

Father God;
We thank you for your blessings in our lives and for your servant John,
We praise you Lord for his wisdom and for his works through this scripture,
We ask you Lord to inspire us to use these verses in our lives
As we grow in you through the teachings of your faithful apostle.

Lord we ask you to strengthen us each day as we endure through battles,
Allow us to praise and love each other through faith in you Jesus,
Shield us from evil through truth, the gospel, salvation and prayer,
Guide us to abide by your word as we spread your gospel to one and all
Becoming examples of faith through our character as we walk the narrow path.

God we pray that you will continue to bless us, to bless our lives and fill us with hope
We ask you Lord to guide our footsteps and lead us to the way everlasting,
Through faith in you Lord we seek salvation and a place with you in heaven
According to your word, your everlasting wisdom and strength.

May your will be done
In our lives, for your life.

We thank you for your love and all you bless us with each day.

Praise God,
Amen!
