Why do Christians look so happy?

Excuse me but are you guys Christians? I ask because you two look so happy!

This had to be one of the sweetest things anyone’s said to me in years! Elizabeth and I had just sampled some soup at the grocery store when the soup lady walked up to us and engaged us a in conversation about the Yankees and us being Christians! How nice…

Fact is she was also a Christian and she looked pretty happy herself! What is it with Christians anyway? Why are most of them so happy all the time? You think there’s something there maybe?

I think we all know the answer to that. Christians all over the world who rejoice with the Lord find happiness in almost any situation they are faced with. Either sitting in a jail cell, or stuck in traffic. In church or even shopping at the grocery store.

My message to you all this week is a simple one: Find Jesus, and you will find happiness.

I never imagined those words would come out of my mouth, at least not until I opened my heart to God back in October 2000. I “get it” now. And I hope you “get it” too or at least that you’re warming-up to the idea.

I had another picturesque week and am immensely thankful God continues to bless my life with all that surrounds me each and every day. I pray God will shine his light bright upon you in the days ahead and bring much happiness in your life like only he can provide!

Maybe you should try the “happy looking Christian” line on someone yourself, if they are walking with God they’ll glow that much brighter and even if they are not, it might drive them to look into God to keep a happy face…

Let’s pray.

Father God;
We thank you for this day and for your blessings in our lives
We ask that you keep us smiling throughout the week ahead
And inspire us to spread happiness to others around us.

Lord father we thank you for guiding us through each day
And forgiving our sins, our weaknesses,
God we ask you to make us stronger and lead us
To walk in your footsteps trying to be more like you.

God we pray that you will continue to provide for us
And look after our families and friends like only you can.

We thank you for your love and all that surrounds us!

Praise God,
Amen!
