There is always a witness

No witnesses. This is at the root of sinful thinking suggesting if no one sees us sin then we are likely to get away with it. However, since God is always watching, there really is no such thing as “no witnesses”.

This “no witness” mentality is also popular among violent criminals who assume by killing their victims they have no chance of getting caught. Many have lived long lives never going to prison however, everyone is held accountable for their actions upon judgment day.

The bible says “For nothing is hid, that shall not be made manifest; nor anything secret, that shall not be known and come to light… In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men, according to the gospel, by Jesus Christ.” (Luke 8:17 and Romans 2:16)

Most of us felt the shame of standing in front of our parents after trying to pass one by them assuming they weren’t watching. How embarrassing it was to find out they had not only witnessed our wrong doing but that they also waited to see if we would fess up.

I can only imagine the disappointment parents feel when realizing their child turned out to be a hypocrite.

I suppose our Father in Heaven gets equally disappointed when we disobey His commands and ignore the fact He is omnipresent. For those of you not familiar with the term omnipresent, it means “always present everywhere, continuously and simultaneously present throughout the whole of creation”.

When we lie to anyone about anything, He hears us. When we break the speed limit and disobey the laws of His land, He sees us. When we let pride keep us from loving others as He loves us, He feels it. When we disobey, He knows it.

Remembering that God is everywhere all of the time needs to become more than a guideline, it must become us! Knowing that we are always stared at by our all mighty Father should be enough to inspire us to stop failing Him. But how do we achieve that or even come close?

By constantly reminding ourselves of God’s omnipresence we automatically grow more respectful of His commandments. Only through obedience can we truly achieve salvation.

I invite you to push yourself in the days ahead reminding yourself of God’s presence. Further more, I urge you to remind those around you when you feel the Spirit working through you.

We’ll never know what others are up to but God knows. Share this truth with everyone, so that they too are reminded the Lord is watching their every step just as He watches yours and mine.

Let’s pray.

Father God;
We thank you for all that surrounds us and for your love.
We ask you to please answer our prayers
And guide us to enjoy the fruit of your holy grace.

Lord we pray you will inspire us to have a relationship with you
And that you will continue to bless our lives
And the lives of our friends, our families and those who seek you.

God we know you are always watching
And pray you will inspire us to live accordingly,
Obeying your rules and commandments
As written for us in your word the bible.

Lord please guide our footsteps so that we may become more like you
Lead us to live Godly lives and keep praying in your name
For the things we need in this life and the next.

Thank you all mighty God for all that you’ve given us!

Praise God,
Amen!
