Praise God! Folks, how can you not? How can anyone not enjoy the splendor of a tree, the smell of freshly bloomed flowers or the crisp autumn breeze cascading down from the mountains? How can you not be amazed with each star that lights-up the sky or a blazing Sun amidst the clouds?
Truth is, it’s become harder to notice the majesty all around us. Many of us find it easier to dwell on the small stuff which quickly occupies our minds and eventually, drives our souls. Ask yourself these questions:
What is more important to me? Better friends or more of them? What would make me happier? More money or more work? What do you need to feel complete? A soul mate or a child?
There are no right or wrong answers, only righteous interpretations of your answers. The bottom line is, we all “want more” of something. Either love, happiness, laughter. What becomes a habit is the means we use to attain these feelings which drive us. Find happiness from money, and watch yourself believe money is always at the root of happiness. Find stress relief from smoking or booze, and watch yourself sink into addiction.
Therefore, it makes perfect sense to learn to enjoy the gift of life using a roadmap drawn by God, and try remembering what it feels like to feel the warmth of the Sun after four days of rain. Why do people feel lifted when this happens? Because they choose to.
Take a good look at your life, you know what makes you happy don’t you? Then go out and do it! Just do it! Nike didn’t spend millions of dollars pushing that trademark for nothing, they know it works! When push comes to shove, and you find yourself in a dark room, do you expect the light switch to find you? Not a chance! Move one foot forward, then follow with the other foot and take charge of your destiny!
Most importantly, remember you’re not alone! As you make your way through the thick of it all, God needs you to find others whose compass points in the wrong direction and do all you can to help them straighten it out. You’ll know you’re headed in the right direction when you catch yourself stopping to smell flowers or looking up to a moon lit sky to count the stars…
Happiness, love and faith are there for the asking. All you need to do is open your eyes…

Father God;
God we thank you for your love
And for the splendor that you bring upon us,
We ask that you inspire us to recognize what truly matters
In our lives and the lives of those who surround us.
Lord we pray that you will continue to bless our days
Shining your light bright guiding our footsteps,
Giving our lives purpose according to your will
Directing our paths to ever lasting love in Heaven.
We pray that you will allow fulfillment in our lives
And keep us from falling in the hands of greed and deceit,
Where evil reigns.
God we ask for your forgiveness in our sins
And pray you will make us stronger with each day,
So we can surpass our own expectations
For our lives on Earth.
