Surrounding yourself with Godly People

Wow! What a phenomenal week I just had! I am in complete awe with life and God’s green earth. I just had a dream week and want to share some of it with you…

It started out with beach volleyball which as you know is among my favorite sports. Add a few new Christian friends, some competitive high caliber players and a little sunshine and you’ve got my recipe for daily smiles!

I played my heart out this week, and could only raise my arms to the sky thanking the Lord for allowing me to feel the way I did this week. I even got to inspire some non believers to tone down their lifestyles looking to God for answers they couldn’t find in their current friends, drugs or booze.

Throughout the week, I was reminded how people without faith get influenced by other non Godly folks often resulting in disastrous ends. Drug addiction, driving under alcohol influence, casual sex and the list goes on. It became even clearer to me we all need to be more selective about the people we surround ourselves with. Inevitably, our entourage dictates who we are or at least, who we will become as time passes by.

It is written in God’s word that those seeking a relationship with Jesus Christ should walk with other Christians, there is a reason for this. “He who walks with wise men becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” (Proverbs 13:20)

And though it makes perfect sense, it is often difficult to follow this simple guideline but not impossible. All we need to do is prioritize and keep putting God first instead of our own agenda. We all struggle with this but need remind ourselves his plan will always work better than ours.

The bottom line is, we all must walk a righteous path and do it hand in hand with other Godly people. Though we may still get driven off course by life itself, as long as we keep good company and keep following in God’s footsteps, we’ll make it to our final destination and walk right through the pearly gates of Heaven.

Let’s pray.

Father God;
We thank you for all that surrounds us and for your love.
We pray you will put the right people across our life’s path
And keep guiding our footsteps as only you can.

Lord we pray you will give us strength to life righteous lives
And that you will allow us to inspire others to do the same
Fulfilling their mission serving you.

God we thank you for your forgiving our sins
And those of our friends and families
And ask that you answer prayers of those who seek you.

Thank you all mighty God for all that you’ve given us!

Praise God,
Amen!
