Sowing the Seed of God’s Word

The Lord blessed me and my family with divine generosity again this week and I stand humble to be so fortunate. My wife Elizabeth and I are thankful to be among those trusted with abundence described in the parable of the talents.

Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance.” (Matthew 25:28-30)

While analyzing my life earlier this week, I could not stop thinking each day was a result of what we did the days, weeks and months before. My life is basically the totality of events that sum up the last thirty eight years.

How would you describe your life? Are you aware your life the sum of all that you are and all you have done? In deed it is. Our lives are not only the fulfillment of one’s mission but they are the collection of what we do each day from morning until night.

Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.” (Matthew 12:33)

If you had to, wow would you describe your life? What about your fruit? If the answer does not fill you with joy then you are gravely missing out on something extraordinary, missing out on the great feeling of fulfillment that comes along with purpose driven by faith in Jesus Christ. If your life is already blessed and purpose driven, I invite you to continue serving the Lord by ministering to all those around you.

Knowing that tomorrow will follow the conclusion of this day and that the future is not yet written, we are given the perfect recipe for success in the word of God.

Still some people continue to ignore the Bible’s guidelines which too often results in a life not to desirable. Worse yet, by ignoring the Lord’s commands skeptics seal their fate as they stray from the narrow path that leads to heaven. According to the word of God, what awaits those who do not believe in Jesus Christ is hell.

As children of the Lord, we are commanded to spread God’s light onto all those around us. But first we must be born again, we must be saved. Saved from what? Saved from the eternal lake of fire, saved from hell. To inherit a place in the kingdom of God, heaven, one must first believe then be baptized.

Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him.” In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” “How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!” Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.” (John 3:1-7)

I invite you to take a good look at your life. If you are born again and have a relationship with Jesus Christ then amen! You are headed in the right direction. Otherwise you need to point out the areas of your life that need change then you must confess these things to God and repent of your sins before the Lord. As you allow yourself to be immersed in the holy spirit you too will be saved. You will be born again!

Rebirth is the first step toward the narrow gate. Upon accepting Christ as Lord and savior, God’s children are commanded to follow in Jesus footsteps and resist temptation using God’s strength found in His word, in the people that make up His church and in ministry opportunities.

It is our responsibility to better ourselves through Jesus Christ and the word of God. Surround yourself with goodness and you will live a good life.

Let’s pray!

Father God;
We thank you for your blessings in our lives
For all that you provide for us,
For our families and friends
And all those in need.

Lord we pray you will continue to shine your light bright
Upon us and all your children,
And inspire us to share your light onto those around us.

Lord we ask you to put us to work for you in the days ahead
So that we may be witnesses to your all mighty Grace,
And strengthen us to follow in your footsteps
And become more like you each and every single day.

God we love you and thank you for all that surrounds us!

Praise God,
Amen!
