Serving in our own Community

Elizabeth and I enjoyed a wonderful service at Saddleback this weekend and felt driven to share some of it with you all.

In an effort to spread God’s Grace and Love our neighbors as God intended us to, our Ministry has collected countless foods, articles of clothing and received donations from friends, families and Ministry members which will soon be delivered to a local Salvation Army outlet.

Working in tandem with Saddleback church which is involved in their “40 days of community” program, our combined effort should reach over thirty five thousand people in need in the weeks ahead. Testimonials, comments and responses have been endearing and continue to fuel our desire to serve God by lending a helping hand in our own community rather than keep making excuses or live in denial.

Basically, the more we do for God and our fellow man, the more we are compelled to do and consequently, the better we feel about ourselves, about our lives.

Some of us are not so lucky. Living otherwise empty lives caught in the rat race, spinning their wheels going nowhere fast, those not involved in Ministry often find themselves drifting away from Godly lives. This is at the root of alcoholism, drug abuse, depression and even suicide. Without challenges, without love, life has no meaning.

Don’t let your life become a one way street to hell! Live your life to it’s fullest by serving the Lord and setting goals for yourself EVERY DAY! Don’t delay, postpone or make-up excuses!

Start now! There are thousands of ways you can serve God in your community, or even through our Ministry! We invite you to contact us if you cannot find challenges near you so we can assist you in going to work for God in ways you may not have though of.

God is waiting to play a role in your life through others but first, you have to put yourself in the right mindset! Let’s make a point to push forward this week, then the next and embrace our neighbors as Jesus did, we all can only benefit from more love in our lives!

Let’s pray!

Father God;
We thank you for your blessings in our lives
For the challenges you set before us
And for the opportunities you allow us
To shine through and rise up.

Lord we pray you will continue to use us
And put us to work for you God,
Allowing us to fulfill your mission for our lives
And serve you through Ministry, through love.

Father we thank you for looking after us,
After our families, our friends
And answering the prayers of those in need
Like only you can.

God we love you and thank you for all that surrounds us!

Praise God,
Amen!
