Seeking God from All Angles

Living in Florida allows me to witness a most beautiful scenery almost everywhere I look. Being a photographer, I feel blessed to be able to capture such magnificence every time I go out on a photo shoot. I’ve been told that “I have a good eye” as many people enjoy my photography.

Tourists however rarely take great photographs. They seldom make the effort to be at the right spot at the right time to get the right angle of light in the right weather conditions. To capture beautiful outdoor pictures, I try being careful to view each scene from different angles, during different times of day under different weather conditions.

Of course, I shoot several photographs each time I visit each scene resulting in a wide array of shots to choose from. Some are out of focus, others lack color, a few are great but only one or two turn out to be “the best”.

Applying this theory to people’s Faith, this makes me wonder if the reason some people don’t have a clear picture of the beauty and glory of God is that they make “snap judgments”. They come to the wrong conclusions about God based on a bad church experience, or an encounter with someone who claims to be a Christian but isn’t living according to the Christian Faith.

Basically, they misjudge what the Lord is like and turn away from Him feeling disillusioned.

The pursuit of God involves more than casual observation, more than point and shoot! Hebrews 11:6 reads “God rewards those who diligently seek Him”.

To see and know God in all his fullness and glory, we can’t approach Him like a tourist would a beautiful sunset and shoot a single photo expecting a masterpiece. Rather we need to seek Him at all times, with all our heart.

I urge you to continue seeking the Lord from all angles, morning, day and night. You will then end up with images worthy of Jesus and carry a breath taking portfolio for it!

Let’s pray!

Father God;
We thank you for your blessings in our lives
And for looking after us day and night,
For looking after our friends and families
And answering the prayers of those who seek you.

Lord we ask you to inspire us
To continue to pursuing a relationship with you
By allowing us to see you from many angles
During many times through many people.

We thank you for your forgiveness, your guidance
And for your unconditional love.

God we love you and thank you for all that surrounds us!

Praise God,
Amen!
