Matthew 24:12-13 Enduring By Faith

Matthew 24:12-13 Enduring by Faith

12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. ”

Matthew 24:12-13

Yes, sadly, the fire that burns within many believers eventually runs out.

The love, or passion for God is often compared to a fire that burns within believers, and doubles as fuel necessary to keep our engines running full throttle.

Why does it run out? How and why is God letting this happen?

Because we all have free will. And when faced with adversity, persecution or worse, suffering, in many cases self preservation kicks in and our love for God takes a back seat to short term pleasures.

Ending vs Enduring

The obvious difference between “ending” and “enduring” are the letters “u” and “r” or, “ur.”

What Is Ur?

Ur is the birthplace of Abraham, the patriarch of the Jewish & Christian faiths, who lived in the second millennium.

What in the world does Ur have anything to do with enduring for God?

Truth is, it’s got nothing to do with anything.

The difference between Enduring and Ending is, u r.

You are.

The good news, it’s your choice. It’s our choice.

We get to choose to either love God, or not. To pray to Him, or not. To praise Him each morning, or not. To thank Him before every meal, or not…

And that’s precisely what God meant to teach us when He called on His apostle Matthew to warn us in his gospel. Warn us of the choices we make every day, that it’s our decision to either love God, or not.

But, how can we force ourselves to love God?

Fact is, we’re human beings and creatures of passion. And, we inevitably love what we immerse ourselves in. We just love the ones we’re with.

So, loving God should be easy.

Start each day by immersing yourself in His word, not just by reading the Bible, but by living the Word.

Keep loving God by playing songs of worship that are pleasing and glorifying to Him.

Lay it on even thicker by spreading God’s love onto others through fellowship with other believers, sharpening each other in the process.

Lastly, pray earnestly to your heavenly Father, giving Him praise and dwelling in gratitude for all God, and Jesus did for us, how much they do for us with each breath we take.

Love for God can’t be ordered online or learned watching Tik Tok videos.

Love grows over time, love for pets, people, and for God.

Just give Him time…

Father God;
We thank you for your presence in our lives,
We praise you Lord for the wisdom bestowed upon Peter,
And we ask you Lord to help us find joy in your perfect plan.

Allow us to praise and love each other through faith in you Jesus,
Shield us from evil through your Word, salvation and prayer,
Guide us to abide by the truth as we spread the good news to one and all,
And lead the lost to You.

God we pray that you will continue to bless us,
To bless our lives and fill us with hope.
We ask you Lord to guide our footsteps and lead us to the way everlasting,
Through faith in you Lord we seek salvation and our place with you in Heaven
According to your ways, your everlasting wisdom and strength.

May your will be done, here on Earth and through the vast Universe,
May our hearts be filled with your everlasting love and grace.
Praises to You God, Amen!
