Looking at your life with Godly eyes

Birds singing, water shooting up a pond fountain and palm tree leaves waving in the wind. A clear autumn sky surrounding the Sun shinning bright high above. Children laughing, a dog barking playfully. A single engine plane flying nearby, the bells of a church sounding off in the background.

What a perfect day!

Bills pilling-up, bad credit and spots of rust on the car. An aching back, getting old and feeling lonely. Depressing television shows, looking for a new job. Every day wishing for more.

Not so perfect huh?

The funny thing is, both scenarios above describe the same person only, two separate ways to look at life. One way will have you feeling sorry for yourself as you drag others down with you. However, looking at life through Godly eyes is sure to fill you with awe and have you shine from morning to night.

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer and enables me to go on the heights.” (Habakkuk 3:17-19)

Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy soul with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” (Psalm 103:1-5)

You see, life can either be awesome or, not. It really is all about choice and how we decide to look at all that surrounds us. Please take the time to enjoy all that God has given you and quit sweating the small stuff. Happiness is right there within reach, and you know this.

I spent the entire week working myself silly, and it was a great week. I consider myself lucky, my work is my life. Though some of you may not be able to say the same, remember that we all are given chores which sculpt our lives. Serving God is our mission, and we can either answer the calling or not, it’s really our choice.

You can either walk through life with a frown, or skip through each day smiling from ear to ear. You can be in pain and be a pain, or be an inspiration and dazzle those around you. What’s it gonna be?

The right choice seems obvious yet we continue to ignore the simplicity of God’s message to us. Walking in his footsteps, living according to his word the bible, loving others as He loves us. A simple recipe for happiness which escapes those who don’t listen. Are you one of those? Or are you a ray of sunshine dedicated to keep slicing through darkness inspiring others to join in the light?

Let’s pray.

Father God;
We thank you for this day and for your blessings in our lives
We pray you will continue to look after us,
And provide for us, our friends and families like only you can.

Lord we ask that you make us stronger
And help us look at life through Godly eyes,
So that we may enjoy the gifts you bring upon us
Each and every single day.

We praise you for the magnificence you show in our lives
And thank you for forgiving our weaknesses.

God we pray that you will fulfill our needs
And answer the prayers of those who seek and cry out to you,
Knowing we are truly blessed
To live the way we do having more than we’ll ever need.

We thank you for your love and all that surrounds us!

Praise God,
Amen!
