Isaiah 6:8 Eager To Serve

Isaiah 6:8 Eager To Serve

8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:
“Whom shall I send,
And who will go for Us?”
Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

Isaiah 6:8

God uses us for His glory, and He calls on those who rely on Him by faith.

We are created to serve the One who made all things possible, and it is through sacrificial works that each one of us is sanctified, and rewarded according to our Father’s will.

As I continue my walk along the narrow path, I am reminded of a powerful sermon I heard at Calvary Chapel St Petersburg over 15 years ago, when the pastor shared the following…

After I had been coming here a few years, a visitor at our church asked me: “What do you do here?” And I answered him “I go here.”

The man then asked again, “But what do you do here?” And again, I replied “I go here!”

And that’s the problem with most people in most fellowships. They just “go” there…

The pastor continued his sermon by revealing shocking stats about the status of involvement within American churches, and the numbers were bad.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: There’s a lot more to being a Christian than going to church on Sundays!

As followers of Christ and soldiers of the almighty army, we must answer the call to fulfill God’s mission for our lives and take on challenges brought on by the Lord Himself.

Just “going” to church is indeed the beginning, attending service or even volunteering 1-2 days a week is not what God intended when He put out the call to the Great Commission.

The Word of God isn’t closed on Mondays, Tuesdays or any other weekday now is it?

Fact is, we are surrounded by people who need to hear the gospel, but too few servants have the courage to say “Here I am, send me!”

Are You Eager To Serve God?

If you seek God’s will in prayer, then yes you are ready to serve. If you are surrendered to His plan, yes, you are willing to serve. If you start each day in God’s Word, then yes, your soul is ripe for service. If you are immersed in fellowship and ministry, then you already know the answer.

It is my hope you will find yourself saying “Yes!” to spiritual challenges and that you will strive to embody the prophet’s words “Here I am, send me!” when opportunities to serve arise in your life.

If you find yourself coming short of opportunities to serve, I assure you that God has challenges waiting for you!

Allow Him to guide you to them in prayer, and you will also find them in His Word, in His people and in His Houses of worship.

Seek Him and He will provide…

Father God;
We thank you for your presence in our lives,
We praise you Lord for the wisdom found through the prophet Isaiah,
And we ask you Lord to help us find joy in your perfect plan.

Allow us to praise and love each other through faith in you Jesus,
Shield us from evil through your Word, salvation and prayer,
Guide us to abide by the truth as we spread the good news to one and all,
And lead the lost to You.

God we pray that you will continue to bless us,
To bless our lives and fill us with hope.
We ask you Lord to guide our footsteps and lead us to the way everlasting,
Through faith in you Lord we seek salvation and our place with you in Heaven
According to your ways, your everlasting wisdom and strength.

May your will be done, here on Earth and through the vast Universe,
May our hearts be filled with your everlasting love and grace.
Praises to You God, Amen!
