Investing in the Kingdom of God

Investing in our future is at the root of life and part of human nature, but what is best to invest in? Stocks? Real estate? 401k’s?

It doesn’t really matter what we invest in, what’s important is that we all have a plan which will return a significant amount of what we put forward. In essence, any investment is a good investment as long as it pays back when it’s supposed to.

But how do we know what area of investing will return optimal results in the future? The answer to this question baffles the mind and is more elusive then we all like it to be.

So it makes perfect sense to mostly invest in highly profitable solutions, the kind of investments which are proven to yield consistent return. Stocks fluctuate, retirements plans enslave you to corporations, even Real Estate and other commodities are unstable riding the back of economic curves. What should we invest in then? Is there a sure thing?

We all know the answer to that question: The only sure thing is to invest in the Kingdom of God. The bible tells us about it in the gospel of the apostle Luke.

Then someone called from the crowd, ‘Teacher, please tell my brother to divide our father’s estate with me.’ Jesus replied, ‘Friend, who made me a judge over you to decide such things as that?’ Then he said, ‘Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.’ Then he told them a story: ‘A rich man had a fertile farm that produced fine crops. He said to himself, ‘What should I do? I don’t have room for all my crops.’ Then he said, ‘I know! I’ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones. Then I’ll have room enough to store all my wheat and other goods. And I’ll sit back and say to myself, ‘My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!’’ ‘But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for? Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.” (Luke 12:13-21)

Little by little, each investment you make toward Eternal Life adds up and grows exponentially as God promises to yield richness beyond anything found in this life.

The best part of God’s investment plan resides in each of us. What other investment delivers daily doses of joy, hope, forgiveness and love? Now ask yourself “what am-I contributing to this investment plan?”

If you already are actively investing in God’s plan, remember to spread the word telling those around you about this amazing investment solution. If you are not yet investing in Eternal Life, consider this your wake-up call! I invite you to research God’s investment plan and witness all it’s short term and long term benefits!

Let us all continue to invest in God’s Kingdom and reap the rewards of our investments forever!

Let’s pray!

Father God;
We thank you for looking after us
And for inspiring us to be the best we can be,
Thank you for your blessings in our lives
And for allowing us to follow your plan for us.

Lord we pray that you will help us invest in you
And guide us to follow in your footsteps
Trusting that you know what’s best for us
In this life and the next.

God we thank you for your forgiveness in our sins
And your understanding in our weaknesses,
Please look after us in the days ahead
And also our families, our friends and those in need.

God we thank you for all that surrounds us!

Praise God,
Amen!
