Imagine seeing God!

Imagine seeing God. What would that be like? In the book of Hebrews a writer gives us a descriptive piece on Heaven. He describes the encounter atop Mount Zion with great passion.

The writer proposes that when we reach the mountain we will have come to “the city of the living God”…”To thousands of angels gathered together with joy”…”To the meeting of God’s first born children who’s names are written in Heaven” (Heb. 12:22-23).

Wow! What a mountain! Won’t it be great to see God’s angels? To finally know what they look like and who they are?

Imagine the meeting of the firstborn, a gathering of all God’s children. No jealousy or competition. No division… We will be perfect! Sinless! At last we will be able to rejoice with our Father in Heaven.

And imagine seeing God Himself! Finally, to gaze into His eyes. To feel His gazing onto you. What an ultimate gift!

It is unfortunate a large number of us will not get to climb mount Zion or ever get to stand beside God. Instead, they stand to be judged by Satan and suffer eternally.

But what about you? Have you started climbing of Mount Zion? Is your Faith so strong it will become your ticket to eternal peace in Heaven?

Considering there were only 8 people saved in the days of Noah, I am concerned that many people are only taking the first steps to becoming a Christian, by accepting Jesus death in their place to be forgiven.

True Christianity also requires believing in Christ, doing what he commands and following in His footsteps. The disciples either gave their paid jobs or excess money away to follow Jesus. What have you sacrificed for Jesus Christ?

God’s promise land is only accessible to true believers. Accepting Jesus Christ as our savior is an important step, but will not get us to the top of the mountain. The good news is each step we take in Faith takes us closer to the Lord- Closer to the city of the living God!

Let’s pray.

Father God;
We thank you for your blessings in our lives
And for inspiring us to seek shelter in you,
We thank you for your promise
And for your eternal Kingdom.

Lord father we pray that you will continue to look over us,
Our families, our friends and those in need
And that you will feed the hungry around our world,
Both physically and spiritually.

Lord we thank you for your love, your strength
And your forgiveness in our sins,
And ask you to make us stronger in times of temptation
So that we may rejoice with you after the storm.

Praise God,
Amen!
