How strong is your Faith?

Just as I thought cold and Flu season was over, on the verge of a gorgeous Florida spring, the St. Pierre’s caught a bug and we’re all sick!

Understanding it’s really no big deal and that it should all be over within a week or two, no one likes a dry cough, runny nose or sinus headaches. Specially six month old babies!

Temporary setbacks such as this that offer some light at the end of the tunnel can be quite challenging but, they are nothing compared to spiritual illnesses. The kind of bug that troubles the soul and tests our Faith in the Lord.

I find it easier to follow in Christ’ footsteps when the road is smooth and otherwise enjoyable. It would be near impossible to follow a leader through a sand storm or even snowy blizzard unless this leader lived within us.

Knowing that Jesus is omnipresent and always by our side, this is one of the prizes Christians get to enjoy as they walk with God. So why do we struggle when the road becomes rocky?

Even the disciples showed doubt when faced with controversy. “There arose a great wind storm, and the waves beat into the boat, so much that the boat was already filled. Jesus was in the stern, asleep on the cushion, and they woke him up, and told him, “Teacher, don’t you care that we are dying?” (Mark 4:37-38)

What tribulations keep you from believing in Jesus in your life? How strong must the wind blow before you too find yourself asking God if he cares about you? How strong is your Faith?

Since we all stumble, it is wise to keep our eyes on Jesus rather than focus on the storm. By concentrating on God’s light rather than dwell on the world’s darkness, we are already saved from the storm!

Let’s pray.

Father God;
We thank you for your blessings in our lives
And for inspiring us to seek shelter in you,
We thank you for the signs you put along the road
That is every day life.

Lord father we pray that you will continue to look over us,
Our families, our friends and those in need
And that you will feed the hungry around our world,
Both physically and spiritually.

Lord we thank you for your love, your strength
And your forgiveness in our sins,
And ask you to make us stronger when facing spiritual challenges
So that we may rejoice with you after the storm.

God we love you and thank you for all that surrounds us!

Praise God,
Amen!
