Homosexuals don’t deserve Eternal Life – No one does!

My friend John and I often discuss controversial Christian issues, he’s a good friend, bible savvy and quite opinionated. Earlier this week during one of our animated conversations, he asked me “Do you think Christian homosexuals go to Heaven?”

“Depends!” I answered. “It depends on whether or not they have been born again and, if they’re taking steps toward God’s kingdom. Many gays who are part of the body of Christ are pretenders as far as I’m concerned and those stand no chance of entering Heaven.”

What I mean is that much like adulterers or even murderers, homosexuals need to reform according to God’s commands in order to receive His blessings. I’ve been asked many times if I thought homosexuals were born that way and my answer is “no they’re not”. I strongly believe homosexuality is a condition brought on by circumstances or by the devil.

Much like a person is not born a murderer or rapist, no man is born to procreate with another man, no woman is born to lust for another woman. It is no secret gays and lesbians are paying the price for their actions as prophesied in the bible as deaths from Aids among homosexuals continue to rise. God’s wrath upon gays and lesbians is only the tip of the iceberg.

What most homosexuals don’t know is that God loves them just as much as He loves everyone else. It’s unfortunate most gays and lesbians won’t admit their sexual preference is a sin rather they are compelled to say “we’re born that way!” which is not only a lie but an obvious disregard to God’s word. Though we are all born with a sinful nature, we are all called to accept Jesus Christ as our savior and obey God’s commands or, be ready to face His all mighty wrath!

The bible is clear on homosexuality among God’s children:

“If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death.” (Leviticus 20:13)

“Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters, nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

I’ve discussed the fact murderers are welcomed in Heaven as long as they repent from their sins and give their lives to God. I believe the same applies to homosexuals. To receive God’s grace and be allowed into Heaven, gays and lesbians must:

> Accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
> Admit their sexual preference is a sin against God.
> Take steps to revert their ungodly sexual habits.
> Continue walking in Jesus’ footsteps each and every day!

No homosexual can truly belong the the body of Christ unless they follow these guidelines. To accept Christ and receive the Holy spirit means someone will be changed from the inside out. Though it may not be easy to revert from homosexual tendencies, it is possible under the right circumstances: Small groups, bible studies and prayer are essential in recovery. There is more to changing a lifestyle than prayer. One must be ready to cut off all relationships leading to sexual impurity, to quit a job or even move to another city.

Each step taken toward recovery is a step taken with Jesus Christ and it is God’s promise that it will be rewarded in this life or the next! Homosexuals don’t deserve a place in Heaven just as no one else does however through God’s grace, we can all say YES to the Lord, follow His commands and get to rejoice in His kingdom for all eternity!

Let’s pray.

Father God;
We commend you for your word the bible
And thank you for everything in it,
Lord we ask you to forgive our sins
And pray for your wisdom and guidance.

We thank you for coming to live among us
And show us the essence of perfection,
Thank you Lord for being born again
And living within all of us.

Lord we pray you will continue to strengthen us
And lead each footstep, pointing the way
To life everlasting and eternity in Heaven.

God we ask for your strength in the days and months ahead
And pray you will continue to look after us,
After our friends and all those in need.

God we love you and thank you for all that surrounds us!

Praise God,
Amen!
