Resurrection Day is upon us in the sunshine state, and for many christian families, this means a day of celebration like no other.
Why Resurrection Day instead of Easter?
I call this special day for what it is, the day when the divine Savior was resurrected and rose from the dead.
If you don’t already know the story, it’s quite fascinating and you should give it a read sometime before it’s too late…
Jesus was God in the flesh, born of a virgin mother and He lived a perfect life during which He miraculously healed many in need and fed thousands of people with barely enough food to feed a few grown men.
Throughout His life among us, the Savior spread love and hope to all those who listened and made a simple promise, that whoever places their trust in Him will be saved from the wages of sin, and inherit a place in Heaven for all eternity.
And that has absolutely nothing to do with Easter.
So why is this day called Easter Sunday then?
The observance of “Easter Sunday” and seemingly harmless traditions such as coloring eggs and enjoying chocolate bunnies in Easter baskets take on a new meaning once you become aware of the twisted and godless history of the ancient pagans.
The “Easter Sunday” we know today is not found in the bible and the holiday can be traced back to a demented “mother and son” cult that’s not at all biblical.
The pagans even held a wild, “anything goes” celebration to make sure they got their fill of worldly pleasures, before the 40 days of weeping for Tammuz concluded – what the world celebrates today as Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras.
The word Easter stems from the mother goddess “Ishtar” (pronounced “Easter”), Eostre, Astarte, Ostera, and Eastre, as well as other names.
She was frequently worshiped as the goddess of fertility, springtime, sexual love and birth. Many immoral and perverted rituals were carried out in her name. A modern symbol of her worship is the Easter bunny (the rabbit is well known as a sexual symbol of fertility) and the egg, which was a sacred symbol of the Babylonians.
So from now on when you wish someone a “Happy Easter,” you should expect to offend a few believers who did their homework and actually understand the meaning of the word Easter… And there’s nothing happy about it!
Instead, why not wish loved ones a “Happy Resurrection Day” instead? Try it on for size, God might like it! 😉

Father God;
We thank you for your presence in our lives,
We praise you Lord for your sacrifice and for the divine promise you made,
And we ask you Lord to help us edify others according to your will.
Lead us to praise and love each other through faith in you Jesus,
Shield us from evil through your Word, salvation and prayer,
Guide us to abide by the truth as we spread the good news to one and all,
And lead the lost to You.
God we pray that you will continue to bless us and fill us with hope.
We ask you Lord to guide our footsteps and lead us to the way everlasting,
Through faith in you Lord we seek salvation and our place with you in Heaven.
May your will be done, here on Earth and through the vast Universe,
May our hearts be filled with your everlasting love and grace.
