Christian Hypocrisy is All Around us

B-I-N-G-O! Sue is a huge Bingo fan and somewhat a shopaholic. The gal can find the best deal in most any store, spend hours upon hours picking out the right outfits for her nephews, nieces, stepdaughters, grandkids, daughter- in- law, and of course, herself!

A glance at her weekend involving barbecuing, a two local festivals, a vintage car race, a night of Bingo and more partying truly defines her character and her life’s purpose: To enjoy life to it’s fullest and spoil those around her!

Nothing wrong with that right? Especially since Sue made the time to attend chuch on Sunday morning.

Wrong!

With most of her free time spent shopping for already fortunate people, Sue is clueless as to her true mission for her life.

Unmarried, living in sin as a result of divorce driven by adultery she committed, Sue drives her gas guzzling candy apple red Firebird to bible study once a week in attempt to deepen her relationship with God.

Does this seem hypocritical? Praying one minute and ignoring the Lord’s commands the next, some of us keep taking one step forward and two steps back.

I say “either walk with God or step aside!” Quit putting on a mask trying to hide who you are, you’re not fooling those who truly matter! God is watching you drag his name through mud and he will NOT let you get away with it!

And while you are contemplating the benefits of a life of sin versus a life of Faith, think beyond this life and imagine for one minute what Hell is like compared to Heaven. Are you really willing to chance it?

We are all tempted. The bible says, “When tempted, no one should say, ‘God is tempting me.’ Each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.” James 1:13-14

Be strong! God made you to serve Him, not to live in sin or spoil those already fortunate and certainly not to dishonor your spouse and children. Giving in to temptation not only hurts you, it misleads others who need you to be a role model of Christianity.

Live your life according to Jesus and you and those around you will be blessed!

Let’s pray!

Father God;
We thank you for your love, your forgiveness and your strength
Thank you Father for the challenges you lay before us
So that we may make the right choices,
So that we may overcome temptation as you did.

God we ask that you bless our lives
And the lives of our families, our friends
And bless those in need around our world
Like only you can.

Lord we pray you will continue to look after us
And inspire us to live according to your will
Following in your footsteps becoming more like you each day
And living truly, honestly and faithfully
.

God we love you and thank you for all that surrounds us!

Praise God,
Amen!
