Blessed beyond our own Recognition

God blessed me with another splendid week in the sunshine state, seven days of pure joy spent serving my fellow Christians.

I am fortunate to wake-up each morning to a wonderful wife, then enjoy a light breakfast on the patio where my eyes feast on a postcard quality view of a pond and a Tennis court surrounded by palm trees.

A short walk with the dogs then it’s off to work which often turns out to be among the most fulfilling parts of the day. The fact I work from home is truly a blessing also.

Each day passes by too quickly, I often find myself wishing there were more daylight hours. The sun sets over the Gulf of Mexico giving way to a starlit sky. Dinner with Elizabeth, some prime time television, a little spontaneous last minute work and the day is all but over. Add a relaxing back rub where one night I give and the next I receive, cuddling to the most beautiful woman in the world, and then, a prayer before sleep carries me into the next day.

Blessings beyond compare. To have someone to share the bed I sleep in, food to eat, paved streets I can walk through without hearing gun shots, a pond filled with more water than I will drink in a lifetime, work I enjoy that touches the very soul of the people who surround me, all true fortunes. Add internet on both computers in our home, cable television from an air conditioned living room, three course dinner, and the affection of a spouse, I truly have far more than I could ever need.

I have to admit, sometimes when I stop and think about all that God has blessed me with, I feel unworthy. I am filled with a feeling of underacheivment which drives me to try and do more each day as if I’m not already doing enough.

This Ministry has taught me a lot, if anything, it has reinforced a feeling I’ve had my entire life: That God is alive in all of us!

We are are blessed in ways we often cannot realize, this is why we all must remain thankful for each day God allows us to serve Him no matter what life throws our way.

What do you have to be thankful for? How is God blessing you each day? Are you aware that having spare change in your wallet puts you among the richest people on earth, that more than 90% of all God’s children live in poverty?

Most of our days are built around material things that drive us to forget how blessed we all are. I ask each one of you to stop and take inventory of a typical day in your life. I hope for your sake that it humbles you and drives you to do more, to be more! You have more than you need to do God’s work and make the most of each day so get to work!

Let’s pray!

Father God;
We thank you for your blessings in our lives
And for
providing more than we’ll ever need,
We thank you for your love, your forgiveness
And for looking after us, our families and friends.

Lord we pray you will continue to provide all we need
And inspire us to fulfill our mission in this life
So that we may rejoice with you in the next.

God we ask you to lead our footsteps
Helping us be more like you,
We pray you will make us stronger each day
And put us to work for you Lord.

Please give our lives purpose,
Drive us to help one another, to love each other
Like you love us, unconditionally.

God we love you and thank you for all that surrounds us!

Praise God,
Amen!
